Gurukul School,Dhamnod recently celebrated Gopashtami, a revered Hindu festival dedicated to the sacred cow. The event was marked with great enthusiasm and fervor, highlighting the importance of cows in our lives.
The school’s celebration began with students and teachers bringing fresh green fodder and other offerings for the cows. The cows were beautifully adorned with flowers and vermilion, and a special puja ceremony was conducted. The highlight of the event was the “56 Bhog” offering, where a variety of nutritious foods were prepared and offered to the cows.
Students from pre-primary to class 12 actively participated in the festivities. They performed a parikrama (circumambulation) around the cows, showcasing their respect and gratitude. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn about the cultural significance of Gopashtami and the importance of caring for these sacred animals.
The celebration was attended by dignitaries, teachers, and students, fostering a sense of community and shared values. The school’s management emphasized the importance of protecting and respecting cows, highlighting their role in our lives and the environment.
